Turkish company Limak signed with Iraqi officials an agreement allowing the construction and designing works of the Gali Zakho tunnel in northern Iraq.
Limak Construction Company issued a statement on Thursday that the ground breaking ceremony forGali Zakho tunnel was held with the presence of Prime Minister of the regional administration in north of Iraq Nechirvan Barzani as well as other Iraqi ministers and Limak Ltd Co. Chairman Nihat Ozdemir.
When completed, Gali Zakho tunnel will enable a safe and comfortable transportation on the trade road connecting Turkey and the north of Iraq.
Chairman Nihat Ozdemir stressed that the Gali Zakho tunnel would serve as a motivation for the region in terms of trade and social life.
